Border Patrol Agent Tyler Robledo was killed in an automobile collision on FM 2644 near Carrizo Springs, Texas.
His patrol car and another vehicle collided head-on at approximately 1:15 am. The driver of the other vehicle died at the scene. Agent Robledo was airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Agent Robledo had served with the United States Border Patrol for three years and was assigned to the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station. He is survived by his wife and two young children.

DEL RIO, Texas – A U.S. Border Patrol Agent was killed in a two-vehicle collision while on duty near Carrizo Springs early Friday.

According to Border Patrol officials, Robledo, 34, was involved in a head-on collision with a 2009 Dodge sedan while on patrol on FM 2644 at approximately 1:16 a.m.

Robledo, who was assigned to the Carrizo Springs Border Patrol Station, suffered traumatic injuries and was airlifted to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died. The driver of the 2009 Dodge sedan died at the scene.

"I am deeply saddened by the death of Border Patrol Agent Tyler R. Robledo. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Robledo during this difficult time," Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch said in a statement.

Robledo was a three-year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol and leaves behind his wife and two young children.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
