Patrolman Blajszczak had served with the Summerville Police Department for seven years and was assigned to the Traffic Division. He had previously served with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Moncks Corner Police Department, and Edisto Beach Police Department.

His career in South Carolina began at the Berkeley County jail in May 1997. He served about six years in Moncks Corner and three years at Edisto Beach before moving to Summerville.

In an email, Rogers said Blajszczak will be "sorely missed."

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing softball. Rob was a police officer for 16 years working for Moncks Corner and Edisto Beach.
