Deputy Sheriff Dwayne Hester was killed in a vehicle collision while responding to an assault in-progress call.
Deputy Hester had served with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office for one year and had previously served with the Elizabethtown Police Department for four years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
BLADEN COUNTY, NC – A Sheriff’s Deputy is dead after a car crash. According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Dwayne Charles Hester was responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call in his patrol car at the time of the crash.
Hester worked for the sheriff’s office for a little more than a year. Before working for the sheriff’s office, Hester worked as a police officer for four years with the Elizabethtown Police Department.
Funeral arrangements are still being made. He is survived by his wife and two children.
