Funeral services for a Rome probation officer killed in a training exercise at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson have been set for Saturday at a McDonough funeral home.
Tiffany Danielle Bishop, 24, was shot and killed Wednesday in what is being called a routine training exercise at the prison.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the probe into Bishop’s death and considers it an accident at this time. No details were released by late Thursday about the incident.
Bishop had been employed with the probation office since March.
An autopsy was completed Thursday at the State Crime Lab, said John Bankhead, a spokesman with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He said the autopsy confirmed she died of a gunshot wound.

According to information from WGXA in Macon, Bishop attended Georgia College in Milledgeville and studied public relations, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 2009. She graduated earlier this year with a master’s in Criminal Justice. During her time in Milledgeville, She also worked at a downtown restaurant, Amici Cafe, until February.
The Officer Down Memorial Page listed Bishop as one of August’s fallen officers.
