The driver of the south bound vehicle Stacey Heinz, 32, of Wyoming, Illinois was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria for injuries sustained in the crash and was reported in good condition, Two children in the Heinz vehicle, one age 18 months and one age 1 month were taken to the hospital by family and were reported checked out and released. The driver of the east bound vehicle Chief William Bauer, 36 of the Wyoming Police Department was pronounced dead at the scene by Marshall County Coroner Dave Lenz. It was reported that Chief Bauer was en-route to an Illinois Valley Crime Commission Executive Board luncheon in Hennepin at the time of the crash, a position he had just recently been appointed to.
